Servi-Tech has been in the news recently!
Check out the stories below.
Servi-Tech’s Orvin Bontrager and Kyle Fulton were featured in an article in Ag Professional magazine and discussed the role of technology in the consulting and precision ag world. Here’s a link: http://tinyurl.com/6qc42on
One of our agronomists got married over the weekend and had something unusual happen – the original wedding reception venue burned down the day before the wedding.
Derek Kleve and his wife, Danielle, were on the news a couple of times, as strangers organized a reception place and details for them.
Here’s a couple of stories:
Servi-Tech Laboratories also made a brief appearance in the news this week. A pork producer Iowa was being interviewed about federal regulations. As part of the video news story, he showed the camera crew a manure analysis from Servi-Tech Labs.

Happy Monday morning!
We wanted to let you know that we had a great time at the 3i Show in Dodge City, Kansas last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We had fun talking to current customers and connecting with potential customers.
I (Monica Springer) went back to the 3i Show on Saturday for a few hours with my family. It was great to see so many family friends and catch up with them.
Here are some photos from my excursions Saturday. An attraction for many was the Budweiser Clydesdales. Hundreds of people gathered to watch the horses (my family included) get fitted with their harnesses in preparation to ride around the grounds. Here’s a story the Dodge City Daily Globe printed on Saturday about the Clydesdales.
I was trying to estimate how many people were there, but I gave up. It was definitely in the hundreds!

10:46 a.m. The booth across the way from us brought their top seller this morning. Here’s her in action.
7:30 a.m. The trollies are lined up and ready to start moving people from the racetrack over to the expo center! Also, my wife and stepson are awesome. They brought me donuts for my Saturday shift.
6:45 a.m. We’re here for the third and final day of the 3i Show! We hope you’ve enjoyed our live blogging of the event with myself and Monica. Crop Service Director Doug Cossey will be in the booth this afternoon. Here’s a nice sunset to start off your Saturday morning in Dodge City.

4:30 p.m. The end of the day is approaching. If you see any ridiculously cute kids in Servi-Tech hats, you know they went to the 3i Show.
We’ll be here again tomorrow, so stop by and chat with us. I’ve enjoyed talking to the Servi-Tech employees that have stopped by, as well as families and friends of Servi-Tech employees. And, of course, I’ve enjoyed talking to our customers!
I hope everyone has a good evening. Servi-Tech will be blogging again tomorrow.
3:44 p.m. Thanks to everyone who has stopped by! For current customers who stopped by to chat: thanks for your business.
I’m sorry to report that we have only three rain gauges left. But, the hats and the keychains have been picking up in popularity this afternoon. In fact, I need to restock them right now. Check back later for more updates!
Also: the 3i Show staff and volunteers stopped by and gave me a delicious bowl of veggies and chicken. Thank you, both for the food and the hospitality.
2:26 p.m. I’m enjoying talking with customers, as well as several potential customers. Thanks for stopping by!
1:13 p.m. Good afternoon! This is Monica Springer, taking over for the afternoon shift. If anyone needs a Servi-Tech rain gauge, hats or keychains, stop by!
12:45 p.m. Another Servi-Tech hat in the wild! (Okay, this one was my dad…)
11:35 A.M. A Servi-Tech hat in the wild!
10:35 a.m. The pace is starting to pick up! The 3i Facebook page is posting some more images of visitors getting shuttled back and forth. Had a nice chat with a current Servi-Tech Laboratories customer about water and soil testing. He introduced his friend to us. Thanks for the potential new business contact!
9 a.m. It’s been a bit slow this morning, with only few visitors stopping by the booth. Still, they’ve been friendly and talkative, so the engagement is worth its weight in gold.
7 a.m. This is Mark Vierthaler, back in the saddle again! The second day of the 3i Show came with a little bit of a drizzle (very welcome) and a bit of a surprise visitor. A rainbow!
In fact, it was a double-rainbow.

4:42 p.m. Things are starting to wind down here, so this will likely be the last update for the day.
I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by today! We’ll be here all day tomorrow and Saturday.
Have a great evening, everyone!
3:53 p.m. It’s been nice talking with people from all over Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado.
To everyone that has traveled long and far: I hope you enjoy this little city, and have safe travels back!
3:29 p.m. Things are starting to slow down here at the 3i Show. For a couple of hours there, it was busy!
I’m all out of rain gauges, but you can still swing by and pick up some keychains.
2:47 p.m. I’ve talked with several Servi-Tech customers so far this afternoon. I just wanted to say thanks for your business, and for stopping by to chat!
1:49 p.m. Things that made Communications Assistant Monica Springer happy:
1:11 p.m. Good afternoon! This is Monica Springer, taking over for the (sweaty) afternoon shift.
It looks quite different with all the booths set up. It’s been busy!
Stop by our booth and pick up a rain gauge. Then, hopefully it’ll rain!
11:45 a.m. Miss Kitty (Alicia Ocker-Thompson) paid a visit to the Servi-Tech booth and spoke with our director of communications!
11 a.m. Servi-Tech Laboratories’ Fred Vocasek gives a presentation on water testing at the 3i Show.
10:16 a.m. While not really 3i Show related, we did just break 3,000 fans on Facebook! Woot!
10:10 a.m. It looks like we’re starting to get some more foot traffic through the indoor areas. Makes us wonder if we won’t see more people coming through inside as it heats up outside. Already met people from North Dakota, Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, and Rhode Island!
8:45 a.m. Doors have been open about an hour now, with lots of people cycling through. With over 500 vendors here this year, it will take some time to meet everyone!
7:45 a.m. Things that make our director of communications happy: Motorcycles.
7:20 a.m. Vendors are starting to file in. We’ve got all of our brochures, schwag, and business cards laid out, the PowerPoint up and running. About 40 more minutes until visitors are able to start filing in. Don’t forget to come by and visit our booth at I-160!
6:45 a.m. We’re here, getting set up and ready to roll for the first day of the 3i Show at its brand new home in Dodge City, Kansas. The digs at the Western State Bank Expo Center seem pretty nice so far. One thing that pleases us interweb geeks: free wi-fi! Not only that, free wi-fi that actually seems to be working. So, a very appreciative thanks to Ford County, Western State Bank Expo Center, and the 3i Show! Keep your browsers pointed here for updates throughout the day from our Director of Communications Mark Vierthaler and Communications Assistant Monica Springer.
We’ve been busy this week preparing for the 3i Show in Dodge City. We’re all set up and ready to go!
If you want to swing by and chat with us, we’re in booth 160. The 3I Show, which is in the Western State Bank Expo Center, runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Our own Fred Vocasek will be giving a talk on water testing on Thursday.
Here’s our booth, and the 3i Show poster. See you there!
